Figure 3.  These models on display in the Patient Education Center exemplify the serial nature of many models in the collection.  The model furthest to the left is a dermatological representation of a torso.  As the series continues layers of muscle and organs are removed to reveal the inner-most parts of the abdominal cavity, helping patients to understand the nature and location of illnesses or procedures.  The display also features large cut-away models of the ear and eye to illuminate even the smallest structures of the body.
