Mayo Foundation History of Medicine Society
The Mayo Foundation History of Medicine Society will host the Edward C. Stafne, D.D.S. History of Medicine Program on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, in Phillips Hall located on the main floor of the Siebens Building. A complimentary light buffet will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by the lecture at 6:00 p.m. Featured speaker, Robert A. Kyle, M.D. will present The Saga of an Oxford Don: Chinese Breathing Exercises, Vegetable Juices and Coffee Enemas. Dr. Kyle is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine in Hematology Research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Lederer, Ph.D., will present Speaking of Operations: How Surgery Became Entertaining in Early 20th Century America. Dr. Lederer is Professor and Chair of Medical History and Bioethics, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, Wisconsin.
