Micromedex 2.0 Update
Since April 2010, Micromedex has been migrating content into the new 2.0 interface; inclusion of all the content was recently completed January 19, 2011. According to Thomson Reuters the newly added 2.0 databases included AltCareDex, AltMedReax, Emergency Medical Abstracts, Studies and Alerts, Hazardtext, Meditext and P & T QUIK Reports. The Micromedex 1.0 version will be unavailable starting June 1, 2011.
In late February, Library staff will be working with the Mayo Usability Lab to better understand the many navigation issues within the 2.0 version and to that end, we welcome all physicians, nurses, physician assistants and pharmacists who have used Micromedex 1.0 to volunteer for the study. It should take about one hour, and as we are assessing usability issues, no knowledge of the 2.0 version is required. Additionally, feedback and general comments concerning missing content or navigation issues is welcome. Please contact Dawn Littleton (email@example.com) or Ann Farrell (firstname.lastname@example.org) and provide feedback by February 21, 2011.
After February 21, and with approval from key committees and Mayo leadership, the Library will reestablish a link to the 2.0 version on our enterprise-wide home page (http://library). Check our home page news notes for updates.
