More Online Journals Added:

We continue to enhance the Current Awareness Service [Mayo Clinic only] by adding more journals and features. To see a list of recently-added journals, click on the “What’s New” [Mayo Clinic only] tab from within the system. Some of the journals that we have recently added include Cancer Discovery, International Journal of Nursing Knowledge, Journal of Acute Medicine, and Operations Research for Healthcare.

Here is a list of the top 10 journals in Current Awareness [ranked by number of e-alert subscribers]:

  1. Harvard Business Review
  2. Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety
  3. New EnglandJournal of Medicine
  4. BMJ Quality & Safety
  5. Quality Management in Health Care
  6. Journal for Healthcare Quality
  7. Journal of Allied Health
  8. American Journal of Nursing
  9. JAMA
  10. Social Work

New Linking Feature:

Some of our library users have asked us to make it easier to browse online journal issues and link directly to the full-text articles. You are probably aware that if you go to a publisher’s web site, you generally are not able to access the full-text articles since the publisher’s site is not able to recognize that the Mayo libraries have an online subscription to the journal. Use Current Awareness to link to the full-text articles! You can easily do this in Current Awareness by selecting your journal [or find your subject list of journals], click on “Online” in the right column and you will be taken into the library catalog where you will find a link to access the online issues and articles for your journal(s).

Contact Colonial Library Services if you have questions about Current Awareness.
